It’s suggested on the site that it’s for experienced riders and that’s true. The terrain is very rugged and challenging. Just what we were looking for! Raphael was our guide and he was a blast, knowledgeable and very personable. I hope to do it again. Our horses were responsive and lovely to ride. We did not expect to spend time at a restaurant hidden within an ecological park as a break mid-way through the trip, but we had a lovely snack and drinks in the jungle! Our family of six just completed our fourth all day horse ride. We will keep coming back. Out you hear was 5 years old the first time and fell in love with riding here. Their horses are so well kept, exceeding any standard we are used to in Canada or the US. The guide Thomas has been doing this for twenty years and took such good care of everyone. The riding itself was amazing and all the positive reviews from others are true. This is a family run operation and you can see the pride taken in their animals and tour operation. While on the trail, we were well cared for by Tomas. There was a fair amount of trotting which kept the ride fun and interesting. The cherry on the top was the ride to the look-out. A group of 4 went on the 5 hour Wild Tour with Thomas… he was a wonderful guide and the tour was beautiful! We rode up the mountain for over an hour and were treated with amazing views of Puerto Vallarta Bay. The ride down was pretty precarious… lots of narrow, steep trails but breathtaking. Certainly not a tour for the inexperienced rider or the faint of heart. We reached the river and rode along and through the river reaching a cute little restaurant/bar and had a little rest and refreshment. Then we rode back along the river and the horses were ready to gallop… so much fun! Highly recommended for riders with experience and an adventurous spirit!!Load more

Verified Great ride Did the tropical rain forest ride- Beautiful ride along the river on a horse well suited to my level of riding. The stop at the restaurant was a nice break before looping back then up the hill to the amazing view. I can highly recommend this ride and hope to do it again!Verified Great Horse Riding Experience The whole experience was great. We did the 3 hour Tropical Foresr Ride. Communication with Sebastian was really easy. Our tour guides Thomas and Rafael were great. All the horses did awesome too. They did a great job of fitting the horses to our ability. We crossed the river and even rode up the river. They let the ones that wanted gallop up the road and everyone had a blast. We did stop about half way through and a neat little spot in the middle of the tropical Forrest. They had nice clean restrooms and served cold drinks. You had to pay for them separately. They had water, soda and beer. Very neat ride along the river. Also they have very nice saddles and have a soft pad they let you sit on. Highly recommend!Verified Great Ride for Beginners/Novice We had a great time with Rafael on our Tropical Forest Horseback ride. We had a small group - just my wife and I, along with our guide Rafael.Neither of us have been on a horse in over 10 years and neither of us had significant experience even then. The ride was the right level, relaxing along with some fun banter with Rafael.The climate is tropical, but the scenery is only sorta-tropical. I think for us part of that was due to it being near the end of the dry season. A part of the ride is through the rural town, and a lot of the ride while in the hills, is on paved or improved roads.The view from the mountain top was pretty great to see. It is also a bit more steep than the other 99.9% of the ride, so it was also fun to see the horses navigate up and down that final 50-100 feet or so.The good thing about it being dry, is that there were little to no bugs for us (we went this week, May 20th, 2024). We didn't need bug spray. It was also fascinating to see how much the last hurricane had eroded the river/creek bed. Just the sheer force of mother nature.We'd go again. If you are an experienced rider, this ride may not be for you as there's not a lot of room for going on your own program and just a few chances to trot or maybe gallop. I'd equate it to a scuba diver going snorkeling... it may be something you'd like to do with family, but maybe not the thrill/freedom you'd want given your experience already.Verified Wonderful experience for family of four! Terrific day for our family of four (two kids age 9 and 11 and two adults). Three of us were beginners and we felt very safe with the horses selected for my daughters. We chose the 10am 3 hour jungle ride. It’s really a 2 hour ride when you factor in pickup and getting ready to go on the horses. But I don’t think as a beginner we would have needed much more time than that. Our jungle excursion was a lot drier than I imagined since we were in the dry season (end if April) so don’t expect lush vegetation. Even so, it was a great ride. Note: they only offer limited chips and cookies for sale when we stopped to rest so eat beforehand. Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable.
